The Llama Trail with Domes and Machu Picchu 3D/2N takes the two days of walking between Cusco and the Sacred Valley and turns them into the approach to Machu Picchu. You cross the range on foot along little-used Inca paths, sleep a night in a glass dome at 3,850 m and descend to Huchuy Qosqo, a site you can only reach on foot.
At the end of the walk you take the train to Aguas Calientes and spend the night at the foot of the mountain. That way, on the third day you go up to Machu Picchu early, rested and without having to get up before dawn to catch a train: you visit the citadel after walking part of the network of roads that connects it to Cusco.

Day 1: Cusco – Tambomachay / Patabamba – Andean Community – Campsite
Your adventure begins with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. We then travel to the starting point of the trek, which may be Tambomachay, Patabamba, or a nearby area depending on the confirmed route. From the very beginning, you'll enjoy a quieter side of Cusco, surrounded by mountains, open fields, and ancient trails leading away from the city.
After a short briefing from your guide, we'll begin hiking along scenic high-Andean trails. Along the way, you'll pass rural landscapes, traditional communities, grazing fields, small lagoons, and spectacular mountain views that define this unique route. We'll hike at a comfortable pace, with plenty of opportunities to rest, hydrate, and take in the scenery.
The first day offers an authentic introduction to Andean life. Depending on the route, we may pass through local villages where families continue practicing traditional farming and herding. Your guide will share insights into the region's culture, history, and the importance of these ancient pathways.
In the afternoon, we'll arrive at our campsite or accommodation, where a freshly prepared dinner awaits. After dinner, you'll have time to relax and prepare for the following day's adventure.

After exploring the site, we'll descend to Lamay or another nearby village in the Sacred Valley. Depending on your confirmed itinerary, we'll continue to Ollantaytambo to board the train to Aguas Calientes, where you'll spend the night before visiting Machu Picchu the following day.
