Responsible Trekking & Travel S.A.C.

At Responsible Trekking & Travel, we believe that traveling is an opportunity to create a positive impact. Every route we operate is designed to help protect our country's natural and cultural heritage, strengthen the local economy, and provide authentic experiences that benefit both travelers and the communities that welcome us.

Our approach to tourism is based on a simple principle: to travel every trail with respect, ensuring that the places we visit are preserved not only for those who enjoy them today, but also for future generations.

For us, sustainable tourism goes beyond reducing negative impacts. It means creating lasting environmental, social, and economic benefits by working closely with local communities, guides, muleteers, cooks, suppliers, and travelers who share our commitment to protecting Peru's Andean ecosystems and cultural heritage.

What Is Sustainable Tourism?

According to the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), sustainable tourism takes into account the economic, social, and environmental impacts of tourism while seeking to benefit visitors, host communities, and the environment.

At Responsible Trekking & Travel, we understand that this means acting responsibly in every decision we make, from designing our routes to selecting our suppliers, with the goal of ensuring that every trip leaves a positive impact on the people and places we visit.

Our way of working is based on three fundamental pillars:

01 Environmental Sustainability

We reduce the impact of our operations through responsible waste management, reducing the use of single-use plastics, and supporting conservation and restoration efforts in Andean ecosystems.

02  Sociocultural Sustainability

We respect the identity, traditions, and cultural heritage of local communities while promoting relationships based on respect, fair trade, and decent working conditions for our team.

03  Economic Sustainability

We prioritize hiring local staff, work with regional suppliers, and encourage travelers to purchase directly from local producers, contributing to the development of the communities where we operate.

Our Sustainability Policy

Sustainability is part of every aspect of our operations, from planning our trips to creating the experience our travelers have. For this reason, we guide our actions through the following commitments:

  • Preserve natural and cultural heritage by protecting Andean ecosystems, biodiversity, and archaeological sites.
  • Respect local communities by promoting relationships based on respect, participation, and mutual benefit.
  • Support local development by prioritizing local employees and regional suppliers and encouraging the purchase of local products.
  • Ensure decent work and ethical tourism by complying with applicable laws and rejecting any form of discrimination, exploitation, or activity that violates people's rights.
  • Continuously improve our practices to reduce our impact and create greater environmental, social, and economic benefits.

This policy guides the work of our team, guides, suppliers, and strategic partners, who share our commitment to promoting responsible and sustainable tourism.
