Day 2: Campsite – Huchuy Qosqo – Lamay / Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes
After breakfast, we'll continue toward the highlight of the trek: Huchuy Qosqo. The trail winds through mountains, ravines, ancient pathways, and increasingly impressive viewpoints overlooking the Sacred Valley.
Upon arrival, you'll enjoy a guided tour of the Huchuy Qosqo Archaeological Site. Meaning "Little Cusco" in Quechua, this remarkable Inca complex features agricultural terraces, finely crafted stone and adobe buildings, ceremonial areas, and breathtaking panoramic views across the Sacred Valley.
After exploring the site, we'll descend to Lamay or another nearby village in the Sacred Valley. Depending on your confirmed itinerary, we'll continue to Ollantaytambo to board the train to Aguas Calientes, where you'll spend the night before visiting Machu Picchu the following day. If your program does not include Machu Picchu, private transportation will take you back to Cusco.
