We begin the experience with pickup from your hotel in Arequipa's historic center. From there, we travel toward the high-altitude landscapes of the Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve.
7:30 AM | Pampa Cañahuas
Our first stop is Pampa Cañahuas, one of the best places in Peru to observe wild vicuñas.
Here you'll have the opportunity to see these graceful Andean camelids in their natural habitat while learning about the conservation efforts carried out within the reserve.
8:30 AM | High-Andean Wetlands and Wildlife
We continue through wetlands and the characteristic landscapes of the Arequipa highlands.
Along the way, it is common to observe alpacas, llamas, Andean birds, and various species adapted to the harsh conditions of high-altitude environments.
9:30 AM | Stone Forest and Volcanic Landscapes
Depending on weather conditions and the operational route, we will stop at several scenic viewpoints where you can admire unique rock formations, vast plains, and spectacular views of the volcanoes surrounding the region.
10:30 AM | Arrival at Salinas Lagoon
We finally arrive at Salinas Lagoon, located at over 4,300 meters (14,100 feet) above sea level.
